About me

Firstly, about ME….here is a brief synopsis of my life…..

  • I was born at Murwillumbah Hospital in 1965 (well that’s what the Birth Certificate I have says). I was brought up on the Tweed Coast at Terranora (for a few years) and South Tweed Heads (till my mid-teens). From then I lived up and down the Gold Coast for about 6 years till I moved to Brisbane 30 years ago with my then husband. I now live at Red Hill, having moved recently from New Farm where I had lived for 8 years.
  • I was born into a family of 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Since then, I have discovered there were more secrets about my family members and my own birth than I ever imagined. Continue reading my future blogs as I reveal these secrets…
  • I attended South Tweed Primary, then Tweed River High School.
  • I left high school in Year 10 to work.
  • My first job was as a governess on a remote cattle station in the Northern Territory, 65km from the Gulf of Carpentaria. I was there for 5months, then went to a neighbouring station to work as a housekeeper….anyone who knows me and my ability or desire to keep house will find that rather amusing.
  • My next foray at work was back at Tweed Heads working as a kitchenhand in a Chinese restaurant. That too was a dismal failure, since I detest washing up. Then came 12 months as a checkout chick at Coles. Back then we had to count the change back to customers…having been exceptionally good at Maths, that was very helpful. After that was 5 years at Centrelink (back then it was called Department of Social Security, Social Security or DSS for short). From 1987, I became a fulltime Mum for the next 17 years.
  • I started my healing work in 2004. More about that later…
  • I am now single with 3 grown boys of my own, Luke, Tim and Josh, and 1 step-son, Tim. I have 4 grandchildren Zach, Claire, Piper and Spencer.

  • My hobbies are…..well, I did have one of those once. I split up from him some time ago and I haven’t seen him since. I am considering giving that another go real soon…I’m open to offers of assistance…
  • My loves are my children, grandchildren, the healing work I do, food, coffee and CATS….the furry ones. I’ll even accept ornaments, pictures, curios, and stuffed ones…..hint, hint….

  • If I wasn’t doing what I do now, what would I be doing? I would be massaging some demi-god on a secluded beach on a Greek island.
  • Something you may not know about me.
    • I’ve been legally blind since birth
    • I wanted to be a veterinary surgeon when I grew up…I would find dead animals and dissect them in my cubby-house to understand how their bodies worked.
    • I left my mark on the roof of a commercial kitchen at a Roadhouse in outback Camooweal, when I came close to burning down the kitchen while cooking steak one night. It may still be there!

The Great Healing Journey….

  • I was introduced to Bowen Therapy through a friend in 2004. I studied Anatomy and Physiology at TAFE in 2004 as a prelude to formally studying Bowen Therapy in 2005 with Russell Sturgess from Fascial Kinetics. On the first day, I knew that someday I would be a Bowen teacher myself.
  • Over the next 12 years, I’ve added more bodywork skills to my talent list…
    • Emmett Technique
    • Nerve Dynamics
    • Hormone Dynamics
    • Myopractic (Musculo-skeletal Therapy)
    • Massage
    • Infant Massage
    • As well as more Bowen courses to become one of a handful of Bowen Therapists in the world with an Advanced Diploma in Bowen Therapy
    • I have completed many health related workshops over the years and continue to add skills and knowledge to my ever-growing reservoir of learnings
  • Studying Business Admin and Small Business Management gave me the skills needed to become a business owner, not just a sole trader.
  • In 2005, I started working as a Bowen Therapist from the front room of my home in Springfield. Come 2008, I was working from a small room in the McWhirters Building in the Valley. During 2009 and 2010, I worked from my home at Mt Gravatt and New Farm. Then back to the small room at McWhirters till 2012. During this time, I realised I had a gift as a medical intuitive and energetic healer.
  • I opened Oasis Natural Health Centre at New Farm in 2012, along with a number of other therapists working with me.

  • In September 2014, I founded Oasis Natural Health Centres Foundation – a non-profit private organisation of natural therapists from all over the world treating sick and disabled children and teaching therapies to parents and carers of the children.

  • I have completed my Training and Assessment course, which gives me the opportunity to now teach Bowen and Intuitive Healing around the world. This has been my dream for 13 years.
